    Protimeter® Aquant Non-Invasive Moisture Meter

Reliable and simple to use, this non-invasive meter allows for rapid assessment of moisture by means of a pinless radio frequency measurement system. The meter detects moisture directly in a variety of building materials and up to 3/4” below the surface of wall and floor coverings such as tile, wood, and vinyl. A backlit LCD display shows the relative moisture level of the material, and color-coded green, yellow, and red LEDs indicate moisture condition. The meter is not adversely affected by surface moisture such as condensation. Features include adjustable auto-off, an audible tone, and a hold function. Includes pouch with belt loop. Two-year manufacturer’s warranty.

    Haglöf 3-Thread Increment Borers

Use to extract cores of wood from trees or freshly treated poles, piling, lumber, or timbers to determine growth rate, age, tree soundness, and chemical penetration. Teflon® coating protects bit against rust and resin build-up and reduces friction. How to select the correct Increment Borer for your needs. Three factors to consider when ordering an increment borer are bit length, core diameter and thread style. Borer Bit Length depends on the size of the trees you will be boring. Length is measured from the tip of the threads to the end of the round section of the borer bit. This is the maximum depth the bit will penetrate. Core Diameter of the wood sample is determined by the inside diameter of the opening at the threaded end of the bit. 0.169” is commonly used for general forestry use, 0.200” for wood preserving testing and 0.500” for large amounts of wood for qualitative analysis. 2- or 3-Thread style is a matter of personal preference. A 2-thread borer has two threads on the cutting edge of the bit, each originating 180° apart. A 3-thread borer has three threads, each originating 120° apart. The higher thread pitch of the 3-thread borer will penetrate deeper per revolution than...

    Haglöf “S” Hooks and Hammer

Designed to prevent slits and splits in logs that have not yet been processed, these plastic hooks are strong, flexible, and rupture-resistant. Timber can be machined with the hooks still in place without damaging wood processing tools. The plastic hooks have no effect on metal detectors and are steam- and hot water-resistant even inside ovens and wood dryers. Use the S-Hook Hammer (sold separately) to drive hooks into place. “S” Hook Dimensions: 4” x 1.5” x .75”.

Protimeter® Mini C Wood Moisture Meter

Uses LED indicator with a green, yellow, and red scale to measure moisture from 6% to 30%, with ±1% accuracy. Readings above 30 are a relative scale and show increasing levels of moisture, not true % moisture. Automatic switch turns Protimeter on when cap is removed. To use, just press probes into the surface you’re testing. Measures % moisture in over 150 species of wood, including Eastern white pine, lodgepole pine, red oak, white oak, and walnut. Calibration booklet included to help you with many more species. Package includes: Protimeter and cap, calibration chart, calibration check, carrying case, and 9V battery. Two year warranty from the manufacturer.

    Protimeter® Surveymaster™ Dual-Function Moisture Meter

This rugged, dependable meter features two operational modes for use in assessing building moisture levels and distinguishing between sub-surface and surface moisture. In Search Mode, the meter uses a non-invasive pinless radio frequency to find moisture up to 3/4” (20mm) beneath the surface of solid walls and floors independent of surface conditions. The relative moisture level is shown on the digital display, and moisture condition is represented by a scale of color-coded lights. For measurement of the moisture level at the surface and at incremental depths, use the Measure Mode along with the pin-type probes or the included deep wall probes. Readings are precise and specific to the immediate area of contact of the electrodes. Actual moisture content of wood is shown on the digital display, and the corresponding moisture condition is indicated via color-coded lights. In addition, Wood Moisture Equivalent (WME) values are displayed for other non-conductive, porous building materials. Reference Mode can be used in either Search Mode or Measure Mode to establish which materials are above or below a point of reference or dry standard. The meter features a digital LCD backlit display,...
